Baltimore's Innovative Blockchain Project Aims to Expedite Foreclosure Process for Vacant Homes
Jan 1, 2024
Baltimore is using blockchain to speed up the foreclosure process for vacant homes. Currently, it takes 2-3 years due to multiple title searches. A $225,000 blockchain project by Medici Land Governance will record records for 13,600 vacant properties, making the process quicker and more secure. Blockchain can also help the poor by recording property ownership, allowing them to use their homes as collateral for loans, potentially unlocking trillions in assets for the world's poor.
