Chain Link has expanded its presence on the Avalanche network by launching its Data Streams product, with GMX, a decentralised perpetual futures trading platform, among its initial partners utilising this technology. Data Streams introduces a "pull-based" oracle model on Avalanche, enabling platforms like GMX to access real-world market data with minimal latency for their perpetual futures protocols. Unlike traditional "push-based" oracles that periodically update data on chain, Data Streams fetches off chain data on demand, verifying it on chain only when necessary, such as during trade execution. This deployment aims to enhance the speed and efficiency of decentralised finance (DeFi) products on Avalanche while maintaining robust security guarantees.
