Chinese President Xi Jinping recently penned an open letter commending Andrew Chi-Chih Yao, chief scientist of the Conflux network and a distinguished professor at Tsinghua University. In his letter, Xi praised Yao's two-decade commitment to education and scientific research at Tsinghua, highlighting his contributions to innovative talent development and interdisciplinary innovation. Xi encouraged Yao to continue exploring independent training models and advancing scientific and technological self-reliance, emphasising their role in strengthening China's educational and technological foundations. Conflux, a hybrid proof-of-work and proof-of-stake blockchain, operates as a regulatory-compliant public blockchain in China, supported by the Shanghai Municipal People’s Government and focusing on cross-border applications through initiatives like the Belt and Road Initiative’s blockchain infrastructure platform.
