John Lê, a professional artist, has transitioned from working in a corporate cubicle to finding success in the world of digital art and NFTs. Despite a late start in nurturing his artistic talents, Lê has amassed over $2.2 million in NFT sales on the Exchange.art marketplace. His journey began with discovering his passion for drawing at the age of 22 and further developed through experiences such as apprenticing at a screen printer in Los Angeles and livestreaming his illustrations on Twitch. Lê eventually delved into the world of comics, but dissatisfaction with the traditional financial structures of the industry led him to explore crypto and NFTs in 2021. Exchange.art, a digital art marketplace operating on the Solana blockchain, has provided a platform for artists like Lê to showcase and sell their work, offering features such as pre-sales, auctions, and "additions" to make art more accessible to buyers. Larisa Barbu, a co-founder of Exchange.art, emphasises the platform's use of smart contracts, which enable artists to receive royalties from future sales, making the art market more sustainable and accessible for creators.
