McDonald's has launched the "My Happy Place" metaverse in Singapore in collaboration with Bandwagon Labs, allowing users to create virtual burgers and engage in interactive activities. The metaverse, operational from June 6 to July 7, emphasises multiplayer interaction, creative freedom, and daily challenges with rewards. Integrated with Web3 technologies like MetaMask for secure authentication, the platform aims to enhance user engagement through tangible rewards such as fries. Bandwagon Labs' Clarence Chan highlighted the potential of metaverse technology for customer retention and engagement, addressing challenges like third-party hosting and lack of rewards.
