RFK Jr. Proposes Putting Entire U.S. Budget on Blockchain for Transparency and Accountability
Apr 22, 2024
Robert F. Kennedy Jr., an independent presidential candidate, has proposed putting the entire U.S. budget on the blockchain during a Michigan rally on April 21. This move aims to enhance transparency and accountability by allowing every American to access budget items 24/7. Advocates argue that this would enable taxpayers to scrutinise spending, potentially curbing corruption. Kennedy's blockchain proposal has garnered support from crypto enthusiasts who see it as revolutionary. However, some critics speculate that this could lead to a central bank digital currency (CBDC), despite Kennedy's past opposition to such measures, citing privacy concerns. Kennedy, a vocal supporter of Bitcoin and decentralised technology, is the first presidential candidate to accept Bitcoin for campaign donations and has expressed intentions to back the U.S. dollar with Bitcoin if elected.
