Stablecoins Stand Strong: The Tale of Ethereum and Tron in the Crypto Bull Run
Dec 25, 2023
While the crypto market roared with a bull run, stablecoins stood their ground, with a total value of $129.5 billion, a slight dip from December 2022's $139 billion. Ethereum's stablecoin value saw a 34% drop since 2022 to $69.4 billion, while Tron's stablecoins experienced a 57.7% surge in the same period. Ethereum's stablecoins were predominantly held in personal wallets (50%), compared to Tron, where 70% were stored in personal wallets. This indicates distinct user behaviour, with Tron users leaning towards personal wallet storage. TRON's appeal has grown, especially in emerging markets like Latin America, with its low transaction costs and speedy transactions, making it a key player in the stablecoin sector.
