A hacker linked to the decentralised finance (DeFi) protocol Unizen has transferred 865.4 Ether, worth approximately $2.16 million, to Tornado Cash, marking the first movement of the stolen funds since the hack occurred in March. Blockchain security firm PeckShield flagged the transfer on August 7, revealing that the funds were moved via 26 separate transactions after converting 1,679,859 DAI into Ether. Initially, 500,000 DAI was sent out, followed by another outflow of 1,679,859 DAI to an unknown wallet .In response to the hack, Unizen announced on March 11 that users who lost $750,000 or less would be reimbursed, with the refunds facilitated by the company's CEO, Sean Noga, who provided the necessary funds. For those who lost more, the company stated it would handle these cases individually .Following the exploit, Unizen’s CTO, Martin Granström, mentioned that the firm was collaborating with third-party security experts and law enforcement to identify the hacker, planning to release an incident report and invest in enhanced security measures.
