Uzbekistan Allows Hamster Kombat Gameplay but Warns of Potential Token Withdrawal Issues
Jun 25, 2024
The Uzbekistan authorities have clarified that playing the Hamster Kombat game is not illegal in the country. According to the National Agency for Perspective Projects (NAPP), Hamster Kombat's in-game coins are not considered cryptocurrencies as they lack real-world utility and collateral. Therefore, collecting these tokens in the game does not fall under the current cryptocurrency regulations. However, the NAPP warned that if Hamster Kombat tokens transition to blockchain-based assets in the future, they could then be classified as crypto assets. At that point, the sale of these tokens would be subject to regulation, requiring approval and listing on a national exchange. For now, residents in Uzbekistan can enjoy the game and collect tokens, but they should be aware of potential future regulatory changes regarding the withdrawal and sale of these tokens (NAPP).
